The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park last week slipped down to number 2 in the 2nd round of voting in the Search for the New 7 Wonders of Nature. Briefly dislodged by Amazon River at the top, UR recovered its top post yesterday (March 2).
The Underground topped the First Round of voting last December 2008 moving into the 2nd Round leaving behind other entries of the country including Tubbataha Reefs and Chocolate Hills.

Underground River moves to 2nd round in N7W
It's official! Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park, the city's tourism pride makes it to the second round of voting for the New 7 Wonders of Nature.
More popularly known as Underground River, PPSRNP bested at least 3 other entries which includes Tubattaha Reefs, Mayon Volcano and Chocolate Hills, to represent the Philippines in the first round of voting...
A Protected Area and World Heritage a Site, making it in to the N7W will surely be another feather in the cap of City Mayor Edward S. Hagedorn who has been actively and consistently promoting agriculture and tourism as the main programs of the city.
